Heath Frazier is always on the go. The Business Deposits Development Officer builds relationships across North Central West Virginia. Heath was named to the 2018 Generation Next: 40 Under 40 in April 2018. He’s been with MVB since August of 2015, when he was invited by CEO Larry Mazza to apply for a position being created for deposit acquisitions.
“It was a capability to take the business relationships that I had developed over probably the last 12 years and grow them in a deeper level,” Heath said. He had previously been working with a publication and website development company.
“I went from managing advertising and marketing for organizations to managing business development. I was interested in the cash management processes and just being involved in making deals to help people better position themselves financially,” Heath said. He’s excited about helping clients achieve their financial goals. “Our clients are responsive and honest with me about what works about our bank with them and ways we can improve. I rely on them for that, because what we’re doing is for their sake, and I want to make sure that we’re always providing the best products and services that we can to meet their needs.”
Relationships with other members of Team MVB are also important to Heath. “I think we have the best people in the industry who work together as a team,” he said.
“I’m part of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) lead team, and I’m really excited about some of the opportunities that I’m networking to partner the bank with over the next year with regards to financial literacy, entrepreneurial education and helping some of our impoverished areas, too. It’s an investment.” The CRA is federal regulation that outlines banks’ responsibility to meet community needs, whether that be through community service, donations, investments or loans.
At MVB, giving back is part of the culture, not just a regulatory requirement. For Heath, giving back is a personal commitment stemming from his faith.
“I’m provided blessings in order to bless other people. And I think that’s a platform I use a MVB Bank – it gives me an even better opportunity to help others,” he said.
In his spare time, Heath enjoys spending his time with his wife and children, as well as running. “I’m a distance runner, so I run every day, probably 3 to 5 miles on average,” he said.
Heath’s tip for success? “You have two ears and one mouth for a reason. That’s all I’m going to say,” he said.
